Korean Baby Dolls
I was in E-mart, a large department/grocery store chain, and I stumbled upon the children's toy section. I was interested to see if the dolls that girls play with in Korea mimicked ethnicity. In the US I feel like there was a movement back in the 90's, made possible by the American Girl Company, that promoted children playing with dolls that were true to their own ethnic background. Well in Korea I overwhelmingly found this type of doll on the shelf, a far stretch from Asian ethnicity. The picture on the corner of the box really throws me for some reason. For the record there was not one doll for sale that was Asian. I wonder how this is in the rest of Asia.
